Hi there, I am Lars, 42 years old, living in Stuttgart (Germany) now and working as a Distinguished Software Engineer at Novatec Consulting for 6 years. I am a software architect by heart and hand-on developer who enjoys finding appropriate solutions for the development of digital products. I am working since a couple of years with a growing international team of now around 25 colleagues developing a cloud-based software-as-a-service solution for the construction industry.
Spring / Spring Boot with Kotlin is our main framework for our microservice-based backend. We also use Apache Kafka / Spring Kafka to distribute event streams and gained experience with event sourcing and event streaming patterns.

Before this, I was working inhouse at a large global logistics company in Hamburg (Germany), and among other things leading the technical design of their main application for air and seafreight transports. I also worked some years for Capgemini on various customer projects and lived and worked abroad in Cape Town (South Africa) for 2 years working in the financial services and insurance industry.
