to support and grow diversity in tech

The Spring community is diverse and distributed across the globe. We believe real progress in the tech industry is only possible through the inclusion of diverse thinking, opinions, and viewpoints.

Diversity Scholarships

Spring I/O can be a great opportunity to get together in person to chat and collaborate, but sometimes the cost can be a hardship. To help with the cost of attending the conference, Spring I/O in collaboration with Okta will offer diversity scholarships.

Okta

We are hoping to attract under represented groups who either are software developers interested in the Spring framework ecosystem, or students looking to learn more about Spring.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants for a diversity ticket have to fulfill the below conditions:

  • Must be a member of an underrepresented group in tech — this includes, but is not limited to: people of colour, LGBTQIA+ people, women and disabled people or be unable to attend without financial assistance (e.g. students)
  • Must be available to attend both days of the event (26&27 May 2022)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must agree to follow our code of conduct
  • Recipients are responsible for arranging their own travel and accomodation
What’s included

The sponsorship ticket includes admission to all talks and catering during the two days of the conference (workshops are not included in the sponsorship as they have limited capacity).

In some cases we may also be able to cover accommodation.

Application deadlines

Those accepted will be notified by 28th April 2022
